Why I started this blog.

My name is Matt Atwell. I am married to Leslie Atwell. Right now we are hoping to become overseas missionaries through the Journeyman program of the International Mission Board. It has been on my mind for some time to start a blog. Part of me felt like it was not necessary. What could I possibly have to offer that has not already been published? I read books about Christianity and missions and think to myself that everything has already been written. Then I think to myself that no one has written this. No one has started this blog. Maybe I am just writing to myself. Maybe no one else will ever read this besides my wife. But maybe they will. Maybe I will live the life I feel called to live in service of the Lord and this will be read after I am gone. I am not starting this blog in some attempt at fame. I am not starting this blog in hopes to be one of the missionary heroes written about in future books. I am starting this blog because it holds the possibility of touching someone’s life for the sake of Christ. So, if you are reading this, then this blog has not been started in vain.
